PT Astra Honda Motor - AHM is the Country's biggest motorcycle manufacturers with installed production capacity of 4.2 million units per year. The Company is the brand holder of Honda Motorcycle in Indonesia. PT Astra Honda Motor is a joint venture entity between Indonesia's PT Astra International Tbk (Astra Group) and Japan's Honda Motor Co, respectively 50% and 50%. PT Astra Honda Motor was first established in 1971 as PT Federal Motor. The name PT Astra Honda Motor was established in 2001 as a merger results between PT Federal Motor and its subsidiaries. Headquartered in Jakarta, AHM now has 4 motorcycle production facilities in Jakarta and Karawang West Java. AHM was able to perform well and achieved encouraging results of operations in 2013, shown by the 15% growth in total sales. AHM was able to sold 4.7 million units of Honda motorcycle in 2013 with market share of 61% of total national motorcycle sales reached 7.7 million units, according to Astra Group Annual Report 2013 as cited by JobsCDC.com.
