Provinsi Sulawesi Barat - Sulbar or West Sulawesi is a province of Indonesia, located in the western part of the island of Sulawesi with Mamuju as a capital city. The Province was formed in 2004 as an expansion result of the province of South Sulawesi (previously part of the province of South Sulawesi). The area of the province of West Sulawesi is 16,796.19 km2 and devided into 5 regencies, namely Majene Regency, Mamasa Regency, Mamuju Regency, North Mamuju Regency, and Polewali Mandar Regency. Accoding to Badan Pusat Statistik 2010 Cencus, total population of Sulbar was 1,158,336. The Governor of the Province of West Sulawesi is Anwar Adnan Saleh.
