Kementerian Pertahanan Republik Indonesia - Kemhan or The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia (formerly known as Defence Department) is the Indonesian government ministries in charge of defense affairs. Kemhan is based in Jakarta and headquartered in Jl Medan Merdeka Barat No 13-14 Jakarta Pusat. The Ministry of Defence is headed by a Minister of Defence (Menhan) that since 22 October 2009 held by Purnomo Yusgiantoro. In performing its duties, the Minister of Defense assisted by 5 expert staff, namely Technology and Industrial Expert Staff, Political Expert Staff, Economic Expert Staff, Social Expert Staff, and Security Expert Staff. The Ministry also supported by 4 Directorate General.
