Kabupaten Semarang - Kab Semarang or the Regency of Semarang is a regency of Central Java province with capital is Ungaran. The Regency of Semarang has an area of 95,020.674 hectares and administratively divided into 19 districts, 208 villages and 27 urban villages. Administratively, the regency of Semarang borders to Semarang city and Demak regency in the north, Grobogan dan Boyolali regencies in the east, Boyolali and Magelang regencies in the south, and Magelang and Kendal regencies in the west. According to the Population and Civil Registration Office of Semarang Regency (Dispendukcapil), the population of the Regency of Semarang in 2009 was 978,253 people. The Regency of Semarang headed by a Regent and currently held by Mundjirin ES, replacing Siti Ambar Fathonah.
