Kota Surakarta - Surakarta or the City of Surakarta is a city in Central Java province. The City is commonly known called Solo or Sala. The City is divided into five subdistricts with an area of 44.1 km2, namely Pasar Kliwon, Jebres, Banjarsari, Lawiyan, Serengan. The City of Surakarta bordered to Karanganyar and Sukoharjo Regency in the east, Karanganyar and Boyolali Regency in the west and north, and Sukoharjo Regency in the south. According to the latest data from the Population and Civil Registration Office of Surakarta (Dispendukcapil), the city's population was 545.653 people. The Current Mayor of Surakarta is Hadi Rudyatmo, replacing Joko Widodo.
