PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk - PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (IDX:HMSP) or referred to as "Sampoerna" is a major tobacco company in Indonesia. Sampoerna maintains 34.9% market shares in the domestic tobacco market. Sampoerna shares a rich history with Indonesia that reaches back over 100 years. Originally established in Indonesia as a home industry in 1913. The Company was formed by a Chinese immigrant named Liem Seeng Tee. PT HM Sampoerna Tbk is a strategic subsidiary company of Philip Morris International Inc (PMI Group), one of the largest tobacco companies. At present, Sampoerna is owned majority by PMI Group with 97.95% shares PT Phillip Morris Indonesia. Other 2.055% remaining shares in Sampoerna was owned by the public. The Company is domicled in Surabaya East Java and now runs its business through 9 factories. Its factories include 2 machine-made factories, and 7 handrolled kretek factories spread in Surabaya, Pasuruan, Malang, Probolinggo, and Karawang.
In term of financial performance, Sampoerna has shown another solid performance in the first semester of 2015 (ended in 30 June 2015). According to PT HM Sampoerna Tbk Financial Statement 30 June 2015 as cited by JobsCDC.com, the Company recorded total net revenues of Rp 43,742.57 billion the first semester of 2015 or a growth of 11.89% of total net revenues in the first semester of 2014 amounting to Rp 39,093.54 billion.
