Public Diplomacy remains as an essential part of the Embassy work and strategic communications are vital in a bid to achieve the objectives. Media is one of the most important tools of communication and it is essential to deliver the embassy’s key messages to its target audience and to a wider public through a mutual engagement and a good working relationship with media partners. Currently the British Embassy is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Media and Communications Assistant at the Media and Communications Department

Media and Communications Assistant

Job Responsibilities
  • Translating documents (speeches, op-ed, articles, etc)
  • Provide technical assistance and administrative supports for media during ministerial visits and public
  • diplomacy activities
  • Media monitoring on UK – Indonesia related stories
  • Assisting webmaster for website updates and maintenance
  • Responding to public enquiry
  • Updating media profile
  • Circulating press release and daily press summary
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in media industry and translation work
  • A bachelor degree majoring in journalism, communications, public relations, English literature, or a similar subject
  • Posses skills in media handling and a wide range of media contacts
  • Excellent skills in translating documents (both languages – English and Indonesian)
  • Good IT skills and experience, including web maintenance and design
  • Excellent understanding of media work
  • Flexible and ability to deal with deadlines under minimum supervision
Salary
